THE SCIENTIFIC QUESTION BEING STUDIED
WHO CAN TAKE PART IN THE STUDY?
People with BD or MDD, based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and recently discharged from Specialist Mental Health Services (within 3 months of discharge)
WHAT DOES THIS STUDY REQUIRE OF PARTICIPANTS?
A 6-month intervention period involving 1:1, in-person, Behavioural Activation Therapy, alongside medication management from a Psychiatrist. Research assessments are conducted at baseline, treatment-end (6 months), and 12-months.
WILL PARTICIPANTS BE COMPENSATED?
Participants receive $60NZD across the study.
This study is being conducted by A/Prof Katie Douglas (lead investigator), Prof Richard Porter, and A/Prof Jenny Jordan at the University of Otago (New Zealand).
